REC League is an improvisational music series promoting sonic expression free from stylistic expectations and artificial barriers between sound, music and noise. We gather monthly in a club-like format at the fieldhouse to explore methods of improvising together, focusing on spontaneous co-creation and close listening to one another.
REC League is a welcoming environment for all levels of experience in musicianship, performance, and improvisation. All instruments, acoustic or electronic, hand-made, non-traditional, and sound sources of any kind are welcome.
Join our open jam sessions to play or to listen. Sessions are low stakes, and focus partly on playing together, developing listening, improvising, and performance skills. It’s also a time to share that new set you may be working on!
Do you want to use gear, but worry about traveling with it? Have you been curious about using electronics with an acoustic instrument that you play? There will be some backline to share, and a weird gadget or two. These sessions are a great opportunity to try something new! Feel free to reach out if you have any support needs or questions.
